Solar panels & installation

Commercial & ground-mounted solar

Businesses use most of their electricity in daylight hours, which is exactly when solar generates. We design and install larger rooftop, flat-roof and ground-mounted systems that cut daytime import, with the structural, electrical and DNO work handled by one team.

Solar for businesses, farms and landlords

Commercial projects are less about a fixed kW band and more about matching generation to how and when the site uses power. We start with half-hourly consumption data where it is available, then size the array so most of what you generate is used on site rather than exported at a low rate.

Flat roofs are fitted with ballasted or penetrating mounting systems chosen for the deck type and wind loading. Ground-mounted arrays suit farms, yards and larger plots where roof space is limited or shaded. Three-phase inverters, export limitation and G99 applications to UK Power Networks are part of the design, not an afterthought.

We also work with landlords and managing agents on multi-let buildings, and with planning where a ground-mount or listed building needs consent. Each project gets a written design, a clear programme of works and a single point of contact from survey to handover.

  • Sized from your half-hourly consumption, not a brochure figure
  • Flat-roof, pitched and ground-mounted systems
  • Three-phase inverters, export limitation and G99 handled
  • Planning and structural checks coordinated for you
Commercial options

Built around the site, not a package

The right system depends on roof type, available land, your daytime load and what the local network will accept. These are the three routes most commercial projects take.

Flat-roof solar array

Flat-roof arrays

East–west or south-facing frames on ballasted or fixed mounts for warehouses, offices and retail units. We check deck loading and wind uplift before specifying the mount.

Ground-level solar panels

Ground-mounted systems

Field or yard installations on driven posts or concrete feet where roof space is limited. Suits farms, rural businesses and larger domestic plots; planning advice included.

Roof-mounted solar panels on a pitched roof

Pitched commercial roofs

Agricultural buildings, workshops and multi-let blocks with pitched metal or tiled roofs. Mounting is matched to the sheet profile or tile type.

How a commercial project runs

From data to handover

Commercial timelines are driven by the DNO and, where needed, planning. We give you a realistic programme at proposal stage.

Site survey and consumption review

We survey the roof or land, review your electricity data and supply arrangement, and check the incoming supply and distribution board for capacity.
